Jingle Bells in February

On February 14th, I surprised Heidi with a one-horse open sleigh ride as snow just kept on gently falling.

Talk about a smooth-ride, no bumps or getting stuck.... these draft horses didn't show any sign of slowing down.

The snow got deep at times, almost coming into the sleigh, but it made it all the more fun.

The best part was snuggling together and staying warm under these huge thick blankets....

The bells.... the kind you shake when singing "Jingle Bells"... those. It was pretty sweet to hear the bells as the horse trodded through the deep snow. At times we'd go under these huge ever-greens and it was like going through a tunnel....

....and Baby Elijah you might ask?

The Sluiter Family from our Cadillac Church was more than willing to volunteer to baby-sit our boy. Their daughter, Lyric, was born on the same day as Elijah, Oct. 28. He survived with no problems at all, considering that it was the first time that we ever left him with someone to go somewhere alone together.... we all had fun!

I say that looks very enjoyable and very very romantic.
By next year, Elijah will be big enough to have his own date. I'm sure he will allow you to screen his options - the joys of parenting. :)

let's see, I looked it up, Oxford American Dictionary defines the adjective romantic as, "inclined toward or suggestive of the feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love," and the noun romantic as, "a person with romantic beliefs or attitudes." Sure, of course, I'll take the compliments....
